The Trinity Rose Foundation would like to thank you for making our 6th Annual Golf Outing such a success.
It was a beautiful day – yet again – and we had 107 golfers and another 40 guests for dinner this year. With their help – and the generous support of our sponsors, we raised over $19,000!
The donations given from this year’s outing included another $6,000 medical research grant to ROPARD, a research and development team in Detroit that is focused on retinal diseases in children. With our help, ROPARD opened the Pediatric Retinal Research Laboratory, the first laboratory of its kind solely dedicated to pediatric retinal diseases.
Two families each received donations of $5,000.
The first recipient was Joel Morrow, a first grader from Jackson, Ohio who was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma at three months of age. During the program, Joel’s father described their experience with this disease; Joel’s numerous surgeries; and their need to adapt their life to his disability.
The second grant went to the LaFonte family in Wisconsin who are battling the retinal disease FEVR with both of their sons Micah (3) and Levi (11 mo). The family travels to Detroit several times a year for treatment. The ensuing expenses coupled with a single income household have left the family in dire need of financial aid. The family’s video played during the program let us all know how truly grateful they are for the help.
The goal of the Trinity Rose Foundation is to continue to make a difference in the area of childhood blindness and YOU are helping to make that happen.
Thank you again for your generous support!
Sincerely,
Rich and Stacy Bonitz
